Jazz Journalists Association members and friends will celebrate the 2017 JJA Jazz Awards winners and nominees on June 6 at a Chinese banquet at the Golden Unicorn Restaurant, 18 E. Broadway in New York City. The public is cordially invited, but tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance.
This year's awards for excellence in jazz journalism and selected music awards will be presented at the banquet. Musician of the Year Wadada Leo Smith, Female Singer of the Year René Marie, and Lifetime Achievement in Jazz Journalism honoree Ted Gioia are among the award winners who will be in attendance, along with many other jazz world movers and shakers.
