The Jazz Journalists Association will celebrate the 18th annual JJA Jazz Awards  with a cocktail-and-music party on Wednesday June 11, from 3:30-5:30 pm at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City. This event is open to the public;tickets should be purchased in advance.

Congratulations to all the winners of the 18th annual Jazz Journalists Association Jazz Awards  listed below. Professional Journalist Members of the JJA made open nominations in a first selection round; those who received the most nominations advanced to the final ballot.

2014 JJA Jazz Awards Nominees announced

The Jazz Journalists Association today announced the nominees for 2014 JJA Jazz Awards in 41 categories of jazz musicianship, recording and journalism. JJA Professional Members are voting now to determine the winners of this year's year's awards, which this year include, for the first time, an award for Electronics Player of the Year.

This year's nominees for Lifetime Achievement in Jazz are Muhal Richard Abrams, Herbie Hancock, Phil Woods and Randy Weston; previous winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award cannot be named again.
