2014 JJA Jazz Awards Party June 11 at the Blue Note NYC

Hold the date! June 11 is the day that winners of the 2014 Jazz Journalists Association Jazz Awards will be honored at a reception at the Blue Note club in New York City.  The party is open to the public; tickets will go on sale online via this site soon.

2014 JJA Jazz Awards Nominations Underway

The process of selecting this year's winners of the annual Jazz Journalists Association awards for jazz musicianship and jazz journalism has begun. The three hundred Professional Journalist members of the JJA can submit nominations until February 24 in these categories:

JJA Jazz Awards party TODAY June 19 in New York City

Today's the day!  The 2013 JJA Jazz Awards party at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York will be the jazz hang of the year.  

If you don't have tickets yet, some will be available at the door starting at 3pm.

We'll be announcing the winners of the 2013 JJA Awards for Journalism and Media. (Winners in Music categories were announced May 1st; Maria Schneider and Billy Hart will be presented with their Awards at the party.) 2013 NYC Jazz Hero Robbin Ahrold will also receive his Award and there will be a special tribute to Sonny Rollins, "Emeritus Jazz Artist: Beyond Voting", along with performances by harpist Edmar Castaneda, vocalist Paulette Dozier and pianist Danny Mixon and the Zach Brock Trio.
