The process of choosing this year's winners of more than forty Jazz Journalists Association awards for jazz musicianship and journalism continues: Nominations for most of the award categories have closed and votes are being tabulated. The nomination process is still open in two categories, however, and you can now view the first-round nominees for Jazz Photo of the Year and Shortform Online Jazz Video of the Year at JJA News.
JJA Professional Journalist members will choose the semifinalists --five photos and three videos-- that will appear on the final awards ballot along with the nominees in all other categories. The awards winners will be announced at the 2011 Awards Gala on June 11 at City Winery in New York City. The event will be livestreamed and celebrated at satellite parties in a variety of locations.
